wanting to know a little bit about sponsorship.
what do both partys get out of it?
how does it work?
how to approach people about sponsorship.
just a little info would be nice tnanks
indizine 07-06-2010, 14:05 sponsorship is usally associated with anything that is not-for-profit such as charities and community stuff such as events such as community galas, football teams, competitions, etc - and its usually a private commercial business which pays for things or provides money to help these events or whatever, to take place.
You can also get commercial companies sponsoring other commercial companies such as you see on TV adverts where a car company sponsors a tv programme or a games competition such as horseracing - usually there is either just the one or a handful to share the expense.
It's just a way of generating revenue in a shared way.
It depends what you want from the sponsor and what you have to offer them in return. Usually it's advertising. So for example if I sponsor a football team by providing the shirts for the year, I get my business name on the back of those shirts for that year.
is it possible to get commercial companies sponsoring me if i was to only use them? thanx for that indizine
Hi Danny.
What is it you would be using from these companies ? Usually they would expect something a little more than just using their products.
indizine 07-06-2010, 15:57 Well you dont give anything away, like, what is is you do? Can't answer a question that gives no details.
well im looking into buying around 32 ps3 at first then hopefully take that number up to 110 and ill be getting same amount of games and a lot more games but i was looking into it to see if the sponsor could help and there products sold at the same place witch would be full of gamers and advertising.
I think you are looking for a partner or funder rather than a sponsor.
From a sponsors point of view you need to know
1. How will it increase sales
2. Will it improve the company image
3. Who is going to see the sponsored materials or kit
3. Who are the new customers going to be
4. How long are you going to be committed for
5. Do you have the time for the extra work involved
I sponsor an adult football team so I have more than 20 active sales agents and get to know more about the sport every week as I attend the games and help out.
so if i find a funder or a partner and then get in touch with say such as GAME would there be any chance to make a deal with them to get cheaper products do you think that could work? thank you kipper
indizine 07-06-2010, 16:22 Im still not understanding exactly what your business is.
Im still not understanding exactly what your business is.
Me neither  Where would you be selling these ps3's. Do you have your own premises where all the gamers and advertising will be ?
Do you mean to sell them to GAME at wholesale prices ! You would have to obtained them cheap to make any money.
Are they off a back of a lorry :hihi::hihi:
sorry ill try and explain it i need the ps3's and games to do compeitions big 1's and then expand it out over the uk then like the best from each place come together and battle it out. i would rent a place where everybody could get together and have a big competition.please let me know if there is any thing else.
indizine 07-06-2010, 17:04 right I think I see. This is a hobby thing not business is that correct? You could in that case approach such as Game and see if they would be interested, test the waters and see, that's all you can do. Be good if you had some contacts. Join some gaming forums and build up your profile so you are at least a somebody.
I've seen stuff like this in Meadowhall and other big shopping centres in the uk. The best way I would say to get in with them at good rates - or even F.O.C is to explain that there are gamers comming from all over the uk, along with their families and friends. Therefore, all those extra people in that shopping centre = extra money taken at tills. I do however think that you would need some support from gamers all over the country.
steveroberts 08-06-2010, 06:59 I suspect the vendors get inundated with these type of ideas, but the best of luck with it though.
unknown_sole 08-06-2010, 19:34 How would all this stand with Licencing?? As from experience software licences arnt cheap or easy to get.
Depending on what games you was thinking about if you read the back they normaly say for Private use only.
