My daughter Tegan (who is 22 months old) has a VP shunt which she had fitted at birth. Hers is for Hydrocephalus though. If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Sounds to me like you need a shunt revision from your neuro .. have you been in contact with them in regards to this ... dont want to scare you but if your shunt is not draining correctly then this can be a serious issue ,, too much fluid on the brain will then cause your head and brain to swell then obviously you will then also suffer the usual , headaches , sickness passing out , high temps and fits ... If you have not already been in contact with your neuro consultant then I would do as soon as you can ,, it could also be that you have a viral infection and this is also playing havac with your shunt .. or just the simplest of things is to have the shunt turned up or down to see if that improves with the draining

Hi
That is so much BULL more like the GP does not have an answer as this is not his area of expertise etc,, I would get back in touch with the consultant secatery and tell her that you need to see one of his/her registrares . They have other docs whom work under the main consultant ..
The heat affects everyone in many different ways BUT does not affect how the shunt works hun.. my son whom has one fitted has never had any problems with the heat and how his shunt works ....the things that some gp's say never seam to amaze me
best regards
Helen
