Hello, I am getting married on September 24th and my wedding will be very DIY so I will be needing plates, cutlery and table cloths (100 people in total). I found some plates at Ikea for 35p each. Is it possible to get them even cheaper than that? (I don't want paper/plastic/polystyrene ones).Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you!

You can borrow glasses from Sainsburys for nothing if that helps (not all branches - but Archer Rd does it) It's £20 deposit, and £1 for each one that gets broken - although I broke one last time and they didn't charge.

You don't have to buy the booze off them, although I guess they'd prefer it if you did.

Can't help with plates, but thought this might be useful.

Asda cutlery £3 for four = 75p each
Plates as seconds will cost 35p each from the right sources
Same with bowls and side plates if you need them.
Add in napkins and glasses and it will be under £4 per head
That's still £400 though but you could arrange a buyer prior to the event and pass them all on at what you paid.

Is there any summer only venues, or community halls, schools, churches etc which may have some you could borrow from them in return for a donation?

I bought my cutlery from ikea, it was £1.60 for a set of four knives, forks, spoon and teaspoon.
