What has your worst trip to anywhere been?

This has to be one of mine:

On the 8th July 2005, I set off on the 0815h train from Barnehurst to to Victoria - unfortunately this was delayed as the train packed up under a tunnel, it took a good twenty minutes to shift, thus making me late for the coach from London to the travel interchange stop there. I rang National Express who said tough-tities, but with the previous days' hoo-haa, you can get on the next coach.

I arrived at Victoria Coach Station at 0940h (the previous coach left at 0930h); I fortunately, managed to get a seat on the following coach which left at 1135h. Once I had read the newspaper from cover to cover I started listening to some iPod tunes - namely The Clash, Scissor Sisters and The Bends, the coach finally arrived - I had to assist some German people to differentiate between Southampton and Sheffield - I sat up the back and an old guy sat with me - he got on later, at Golders Green.

I noticed he had a paper with him, couldn't tell which, until I saw the masthead.
Me: "Aah, you have The Telegraph".
Him: "Yes, pensioners paper". "Do you like politics and newspapers?"
Me: "Yes, I have a Times with me - it's in the pocket at the top of the seat, under my bag and things."
Him: "Good place for Murdoch papers".

(We continued to talk for the majority of the journey about Derbyshire, politics, house prices, Meadowhall, his trip to Bulgaria, his female friend that he doesn't want his wife knowing about (in Bulgaria), Turkey, passports, ID cards and varying other things).

When we got to the Derbyshire / South Yorkshire borders, there was traffic - we were there for an hour and a half - sitting - he wanted to get off at Chesterfield, and was waiting for his Mrs to pick him up from there. Apparently, he'd been to Bulgaria the cheapest way possible, and somehow ended up being disallowed into Poland, as he had an incorrect - he'd done everything on the cheap - fair.

He was a very interesting chap.

The upshot was that I got to Sheffield about 1645h, as opposed to 1510h!
