View Full Version : How old to learn to drive baza1 11-09-2005, 22:37 has there been a change in the age limit to learn to drive? Is it still 17? Kristian 11-09-2005, 22:39 It's still 17 fo a car unless you have certain mobility problems. In that case people can have a licence at 16. Hope this helps. K. Saxon 12-09-2005, 07:00 What might be confusing you, baza1, is that the Government were looking at a proposal to leave the age at which you can start to learn to drive at 17, but make it so that you couldn't take the test until you were 18 (in an attempt to make people have more tuition and therefore be safer drivers). However this was thrown out and Kristian is quite right in that it is 17 for cars (unless you are disabled). You can apply for your provisional licence up to 3 months prior to your 17th birthday but it doesn't come into effect until your actual birthday. |
