Gary is my godson he entered the world of motorcross just 1 year ago.
Its absolutely incredible what he had achieved in a year. He had claimed at least 30 cups and awards. The latest is Rider of the Month' for May 2010.
I am right in saying youngsters who beat him last year he now beats and these young lads have been riding bikes since they were 4 years old.

statements
"Gary was riding for whiterose at Finningley, even though he ended up in eighth place overall he actually came first out of all the members in his class. There were different clubs who attended this race meeting but if they hadn't gary would have been placed third, he is now lying third in the championships but we're only halfway through and in need of new wheels!!! Selling things now to pay for them!!!!"

These are just a couple of sites where his name crops up but there is so much more about my godson, he has a wonderful personality and determination.

Now here is the problem, his father has the big C after a long battle and can no longer physically support Gary. We do have a plan B but not for too long.
We need a sponsor who will fund a bike at 4K, repairs on site and without doubt support at the events. We are looking for someone in business on this site , maybe its your company maybe its the company you work for, who can sponsor him in exchange for all the publicity in the future.
He has the offer of a sponsor but his family feel he will need support more than anything else in the future,
thank you for reading this

hi can see it will be a struggle for u to compete as motorcross ha s changed drasticly in the past years, an everything is just stupid money, i raced motocross from the age of 5 upto being 22 ,im 37 now and to be truthfull i was pretty good/ i used to race with the ymsa and acu and did all british nationals an rode with people like jamie dobb ,chris walker,etc/ i was sponsored by heron suzuki at the age of 12yrs as jamie dobb was on honda uk, the point im getting at is dobbs parents had loads of money to start with, and mine used to struggle to even get me to meetings at weekends although i did get my bikes for free,it was always close racing between me an him /he beat me i beat him, anyway heron suzuki finished in whatever year cant remember and i couldnt get a ride anywere so my parent did exactly the same thing u r doing buy putting stories in the sheffeild star wot id won who id beat etc, buy this time i was 16yrs an ready for 125s/ i did get sum help from a bike shop in notts called edge hill yamaha who gave me a new bike but was a year old compared to what j dobb was riding with all the trick factory bits. to be truthfull it was a yz 125 and i didnt like it much couldnt get to gripps with it but said yes just so i could carry on riding/ still did the amca championships
and always run in the top 3 and did beat jd in the overhaul championships finishing 2nd to chris walker who now races superbikes. i was as good as any of them, even on a bike ididnt like, and my bike never had the trick bits these guys had got on them but still couldnt get the proper backing i deserved ,in a nut shell it was down to who u knew and wot money you alredy had behind you/it seemed like all the lets say not so good riders whos mum an dads had plenty of cash alredy, an realy didnt need any help with a free bike always got a good sponsor and a couple of bikes, and the realy talented had to struggle all the time/hope u can get a sponsor out if it as it sounds like he deserves it but think u may struggle if your face dont fit if u get wot i mean..

my advice is ,,if u can do the big nationals, if u can afford to get their and try to get your foot in the door with the proper sponsors and talk to them an let them see how good your lad is ,,and he has got to get noticed, dont stay doing the club meetings even if hes winning everyweek move on or he wont get nothing/ i know how hard it is to get to these meeting as i saw my mum and dad struggle every weekend, and eventualy and still getting nothing out of it id had enough and decided to jack in ,my mate jd carried on cause they could afford too and never needed anything for his bikes cause he got it for free and he ended up being world champion, sometimes look back an think that could have easily been me if i had wot he did cause i had the capability.

anyway enough of my sob story:roll: all im sying is try as hard as u can to get him noticed an u may be looky but he will have to be special to get a real good ride, as a normal sponsor these days dont get enough out of it to put anything in/ all the best and sorry to hear about the big c word.

good look in findin his future ride// be lookin for his name all the best

Have you tried contacting all the local motorbike businesses?

I'd start with Motorbike shops, car spares, anything auto related.
