I've just bought a 160gb Seagate from ebuyer for £59. fruit&nut 11-09-2005, 13:09 try ebuyer or ebay G18241 11-09-2005, 13:13 What you need is RAM, DDR, all depends on what motherboard you have though as to which you will need at a guess it will be DDR333 or pc2700 :) most motherboards are really What do you need all these pieces for? kirky 11-09-2005, 13:14 i got a 300gig (£140) and a 250 (£116) from here http://1453.tchosts3.net/CUSTOMIZED/main.html delivered next day included in the price bunnykins 11-09-2005, 13:18 hi,wow thats a little too big for what i use was wanting between 80 and 160gb is plenty, thanks anyway :) bunnykins 11-09-2005, 13:20 hi, i need these parts as my motherboard packed in the other day i have managed to salvage some parts but others are no good ie,memory and hard drive,as my old memory was sdr i think and this one is ddr so needs an upgrade, its an amd athlon 2200,:) G18241 11-09-2005, 13:22 amd is the cpu or processor you have :) at a guess i would say ddr333 though, as this is the most popular one used, try the website i sent you about the hard drives and just do a search for ddr333 and then how many MB of memory you want - 128/256/512 :) bunnykins 11-09-2005, 14:14 hi,sorry about lack of info:) ill have a look at that site. many thanks:) bunnykins 11-09-2005, 20:13 had a look at the web site havent got a clue on what type of memory i need, dont even no whats in this pc,gonna speak to the bloke who fitted it and ask him.i think  GabbleRatcht 11-09-2005, 22:17 try to find out the motherboard you have. If you have taken apart your computer, you will be able to see it's details printed on the circuit board somewhere. Post here and we can tell you which bits will be suitable ;) It's best not to guess.;) GabbleRatcht 11-09-2005, 22:21 sorry, miss read this. Your MB packed in and you need memory and a drive. You just have the processor? What else did you salvage:( The memory you need will depend on your new MB. Do you know the processor is OK? Loosing an MB, Ram and drives sound like a serious PSU failure to me. bunnykins 12-09-2005, 08:11 i have bought a new processor and modem, all i could salvage from my other pc i did but must of it was on board so its the one i have bought that needs memory,i will have a look inside later and let you no what motherboard it is, thankyou for all of your help everyone:thumbsup: bunnykins 12-09-2005, 12:07 hi cant find any name on the motherboard just numbers; Compaq Presario 061 DM030A-ABU S4100 GB330 0bM0411RE101SALSA10 System Serial Number: CZB3311EW2 Enclosure Type: Desktop, also diplaying this for the hard drive; Maxtor 6E040L0 [Hard drive] (41.11 GB) -- drive 0, s/n E1EGAAKE, rev NAR61590, SMART Failure i havent got a clue someone help me :help: |
