Does anyone know where's a good place to buy a decent bed in the Sheffield area.
I've tried all the obvious places like Coles, Attkinsons. They seem to vary from cheap and crap to expensive and crap with no reasonable price and reasonable quality in the middle.
Any help you good folk can offer would be much appreciated.

I got mine from Atkinsons when they were having one of their regular sales - it was 50 per cent off and another 20 per cent on top of that, bargain! (Really comfy too!!)
we're just looking at the moment as well.

There's a shop on Barnsley Road, just past pheasant pub heading toward ecclesfield. They are cheap but good quality.
£69 for a single, with matress.
Try Walmsley's on The Moor/Cumberland Street. They do quick delivery and always have a decent range of different types - and you can get on 'em to test them out. Beware of some of the chain stores who will only deliver in 3 - 6 weeks, as if you go to independents or a place like Walmsley's, they'll often deliver next day, which is much more like it.

On the main road through attercliffe heading towards meadowhall you go past a hewdens hire shop on your left and then there is an exotic pet shop on your left and some traffic lights turn right there as if your going to pitz soccer and its a bed furniture shop immediately on your left i got a solid wooden bed with a really deep mattress for 300 bargain and they delivered 2 days later:clap:

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. Loads there that I didn't know about.
I'm going to have a look on Saturday so hopefully next week when I crawl out of bed I won't stagger downstairs feeling 30 years older than I am.
Going on holiday and having a week in a different bed made me realise that a bed made from bits of junk dh cobbled together was not that great for my back.
someone has mentioned the place on Barnsley road We have used them twice and have found them good value and obliging on both ocasions, they had the beds in stock and we brought them home with us, they had a range from budget to the best and prices to match.
didnt hassle us into buying anything just let us get on with it and sell it when we had made up our minds

I got my last matress from Discount Beds off Abbeydale Road South near Bramall Lane. I felt the helpfulness of the staff was excellent and I rarely give praise. You can get delivery on a Saturday! I got a matress that used a material that was apparently developed for the space programme. Lucky astronauts is all I can say.
I went to a place called Franklins Bedside Manor Ltd for mine. Huge choice, good quality, very helpful ...
I still think about that pocket sprung beauty that i turned down. nice support well cushioned, long legs, able to stand a good bounce. I almost fell asleep just trying it out mmmmm. The sales woman even let me have a second go whilst she filled in the forms. Ah well got the model down from that, its still the best bed i've had.
