They've built a castle since then mate, mind you it's ready for the House Invaders team to spruce up the pointing & decor a bit.

The surf is good in Scarborough on a good day but if not the water is really clean especially in Cayton Bay just south of Scarborough.

There is Peasholme Park aswell so you can hire a rowing boat.

I really like Scarborough - Have a great time.

TBH the last time I went to Scarborough I thought it was a bit grotty and boring. The most interesting bit of the day was looking for crabs at Scalby. The sea life centre was ok, but expensive. I guess kids are more easily entertained than adults 'cause I loved the place when I was a kid. Even the Knickerbocker glories looked a bit small.

As melbournian said, Cayton bay is nice, and so is Cornelian bay, harder to find/get to though as you have to walk down through a wood, but the beach is nice and usually empty.
