Following David Dimbleby's excellent programme this year, I thought I'd like to know more about the subject.
Is there a course in Art History at all?

If there is one, you'll be able to find it from here (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56353)

Welcome to Sheffield Forum BTW

Thanks for the welcome, Strix, I didn't realise anyone would notice it was my first thread!
The trouble with your links are that the courses on offer carry qualifications etc.
I am really looking for an adult course for general interest.
I don't think that Sheffield offers much in this field.

Contact Sheffield College then. They had a director who swept away all the learing for fun type of courses, and wanted to measure the college's success by 'results'

This director is no longer there, and the college now recognises the value to the community of teaching without measurement - so suggestions are welcome....

... or so I've been told ;)

Or you could do what I did, and start a course - but set your own parameters and goals. If you don't achieve their goals - so what? So long as you fulfil your own needs whilst there.

It's you who pays the fees after all ;)

Thanks.
I'll try the college.
