View Full Version : The Million Pound Drop
Anyone seen this show? I've caught it a couple of times. I think it could ruin your life if you threw away a million pound on a 50/50 question. How could you ever stop thinking what might have been! That is definitely life changing.
If you haven't seen it you have a million pound and have to place it on an answer to a question for 8 rounds. You can split it up but can't cover all options. The number of answers gets fewer towards the end. On the last question it is 50/50 but you can only pick one. A couple last night lost over £500k on the last question. It would take me quite a while to get over that!
HeadingNorth 27-05-2010, 09:12 I started to watch it, but there was far, far too much time being wasted. The show should last a half-hour, if that.

I don't think I have managed a full show yet. They do usually have more than 1 pair of contestants per show but they drag it out for ages.
alchresearch 27-05-2010, 10:20 Its the same as "Deal or No Deal". You can get through that in ten minutes.
Ousetunes 27-05-2010, 10:32 Ms McCall fronts it.
No chance of my watching anything with this vile creature on it.

That show doesn't seem to drag so much for me, but perhaps that's because I find Noel Edmonds more tolerable than Davina McCall.
I agree that it could easily be cut to a half-hour format.
HarrietStar 27-05-2010, 12:29 I dislike how they bang on about it being live, as if that makes it a more worthwhile show to watch, if anything, it makes it worse because McCall makes so many mistakes.
officegirl 27-05-2010, 12:39 I saw this show yesterday - it's cruel genius! You literary see your money fall from you, down to the banker though a transparent stage. Lol tho I do agree the game could be speeded up. Too many add breaks and the 30 sec tension builder to see if you have guessed right. It's just too long, Crack on just open the 3 wrong answer drops!
Bladesman 27-05-2010, 23:30 I thought it was rather boring to be honest abit like deal or no deal but surprisingly slower.
Madam^Angel 28-05-2010, 12:20 I quite like it, I played online the other night tho and that was crap. I wonder if anyone will walk away with anything. I agree though, they do waste far too much time
laurajill 28-05-2010, 12:47 I like it it's like car crash T.V.
I love watching all the contestants come out and get really giddy about the 1million when actually they have a slim chance of getting through to the 8th question then on the eighth question unless they are 100% about the answer they have to bet their money anyway.
That couple last night that didn't answer question one correctly. Bless.
could have been a good programme if they had a more mixed group of contestants. As it was they all seemed like BB wannabes. I think only one couple won anything!! how sad lol
I thought it was quite good - much much better than all these new quiz shows like 'The Chase', 'Golden Balls', 'Divided' etc. But agree it does take a while - but there again 8 questions is the right amount for it. Any less and everyone would get to the last question with a 50/50 chance of winning.
Funky_Gibbon 31-05-2010, 11:31 Saw about 2 minutes of it when I switched over to watch You Have Been Watching. That was more than enough to know not to bother watching any more.

Yep a couple actually walked away with £75k, no one else won anything lol.
ricgem2002 01-06-2010, 10:04 Yep a couple actually walked away with £75k, no one else won anything lol. they havent won anything just yet .they have to wait until what a crb check reveals about them and if they dont tick the right boxes (so to speak) the company dosent have to pay them out :loopy:

If they were honest about filling in the forms that allowed them to compete in the first place, then that's a mere formality and nothing to worry about.
If they were dishonest in their application, then they shouldn't be paid a penny.
