Went to see ACDC last summer at Wembley they were great...
GUZZIOWL 06-06-2010, 11:37 My youngest son (22) went to the same gig an' wanted me to go ( i've seen hundreds of bands over the last 40 years:huh: :hihi:) but i couldn't afford it as me and the missus were off to Ireland a few months later , but my son still gets Pi**ed off knowing that i've seen Led Zep and Type O Negative..:hihi:
Frank Sidney 06-06-2010, 20:33 I had a spell working for Rocksteady at the Arena. These are a few that I remember. True music fans will hide behind the sofa-
Westlife (5 times)
S-Club Seven (twice)
Kylie
Busted
Destiny's Child
Shania Twain
Pop Stars Tour (:gag:)
Rod the Mod (I'm old enough to remember when Rod was good.)
Diana Ross
Garath Gates (A dancer said when she came off stage, "that was embarrassing" :hihi:)
Bjorn Again (Worse, if thats possible, than the original)
Barry Manilow (He only sold half the tickets so they moved the stage forward:help:)
Eric Clapton (Never seen so many bald heads as his audience:help::roll:)
There were loads more but they were that bad they've been erazed from my memory.
For what its worth the best I ever saw while working there was Peter Gabriel. I became a fan after seeing him. I earned about 15 quid for the nights work. The next day I spent 40 quid on his CD's:help::huh:

and one of my latest dicoveries- The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, shame they've only released on album (Now That's What I Call Steampunk! Vol 1 :D) They just have epic lyrics. Imagine a cross between Bill Bailey and Chas & Dave. And Iron Maiden. In the 1800s. "I love a girl in goggles! It's goggles that do it for me!"

Happy listening!
DragonofAna 09-06-2010, 21:36 Current favourite is Tegan and Sara. When I first heard them I thought - hmmm, bit weird. Then I continued to listen and have become addicted. They are just weird and weirdly addictive.
Went to see John Foxx at the Roundhouse on Saturday. He was using his original 1980s analogue synths and drum machines. He even performed some post-punk Ultravox numbers (not the execrable Midhe Ure version of the band) . It didn't sound dated at all.
FATBLOBBY 11-06-2010, 21:49 my youngest son (22) went to the same gig an' wanted me to go ( i've seen hundreds of bands over the last 40 years:huh: :hihi:) but i couldn't afford it as me and the missus were off to ireland a few months later , but my son still gets pi**ed off knowing that i've seen led zep and type o negative..:hihi:

“27 studio albums. 36 live albums. 30+ compilations. A million singles, EPs, and bootlegs. And chances are good that they’re not done yet. The Fall are a Manchester band led by sarcastic tone-deaf frontman Mark E. Smith, who has ensured musical progression over the last three decades by firing every musician who ceases to interest him. Regardless, The Fall have been mindbogglingly consistent regardless of their many personnel change-ups and musical progressions (from carnival punk to minimalist art noise to guitar pop to mellow synth dance to noisy rockabilly to bass-n-drum to garage rock to whatever the hell it is they’re doing now), and have stayed true to their original vision - “Write an amazingly great simple melody, play it a thousand times in a row, pile a lot of noise on top of it, then have Mark say (or poorly sing) a bunch of stuff that doesn’t make any sense.” It works. Their worldwide cult following knows what it’s talking about. Unfortunately Mark Smith is getting nuttier by the year, replacing musician after musician at an astonishing rate. Could a BAD ALBUM eventually result?!? Not yet, but we’ll keep our hopes down.”
