Are you watching the news?

I'll post when I've seen the news item properly - it's shocking!

online here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cornwall/4158522.stm)
Although the photo looks like nothing compared to the tv pictures - it's a dragon type thing covering half the length of his back

There's more here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/3614730.stm) , but it looks like the one I linked above is a different case to the one on tonight's news.

Is this another epidemic

CALM DOWN!!

Jeez, queen of over reacton!!

Some people can have bad reactions to washing powder, watches and pretty much anything that comes into contact with the skin. 2 people have a bad reaction to cheap henna and you call it an epidemic!

Some people have sensitive skin, some pople use dodgy dye instead of henna when offering henna tattoo's My friend had a similar reaction the other year when he got a tattoo in Goa. It soon cleared up.

If people pay about £1.00 for a henna tattoo then the chances are it's not henna but some cheap dye which could well cause a nasty reaction. If you want a Henna tatoo then get your own natural Henna and do it yourself or get someone you trust to do it. You would not let some random person draw on you with a permanent marker so don't let them apply some unidentified black goo to your kids!

Yeah that’s what I’ve heard too. Some places have been known to use cheap industrial dyes that have been banned because they are very cheap. Unfortunatly the reason why they are so cheap is because they are so toxic to humans and can cause chemical burns if applied to the skin.

I had a henna tattoo done before getting the tattoo done for real. Real henna isn't a liquid but more like the consistency of icing.

It can come in solid, paste, powder, or liquid form depending on it's use. For goodness sake it's just crushed leaves! I doubt very much that this was a henna tattoo...

I think we have come to the conclusion that this wasn't a henna tattoo noseyrosie. How come you know so much about henna tattoos?

There is also a chance the person who had the problem was just allergic to henna

I'm just trying to figure out how anybody could get a licence to carry out this trade on the street (without premises) when it's usual for any dyes etc to have to be tested on the skin 24hrs before the actual treatment commences - just in case allergic reactions do take place
