Hi,
my OH has fallen prey to vardis Forrsteres children charity), and yes paid them £100 for an ad in a crap mag, we still 'owe' them £150, not paying of course, but we rang trading standards who couldnt care less, but did tell us that we could have them for breach of contract as they hadn't distributed where they said they would. How do we go about this, I have rung them for a list of places that they distribute too, funnily enough not heard anything, how can we get our money back, we're not rich by any means and that was my driving lesson money that took ages for me to save up for silly bloody hubby!

oh Child safety initiative are also using the same scam!

Hi i know what you mean i have had the same experience with them. Dont get me wrong i blame my self but it is how they went about it. i got a phone call out off the blue told i would get a full page ad then a another phone call confirming it. i then recived the ad its self quarter page and the art work was like a five year old had done it. i then said i would like to cancel and they said i had signed to say it was ok i asked for the signature no responce (i had not signed anything) i then tuck legal advice and i was told i had a 14 days cooling off period after i had paid i informed vardis of this and they played a tape with my voice agreeing to the ad ( the first phone call). i have done the same ask for there distrbution list nothing?? the one thing i did get was £100 nocked off the price. Call them and rant at the manager it works. they said they will be intouch about the art work no reply.

As i said my onwn fault but it as affected other companys that phone me now because due to this one bad experience i now just say no and put the phone down.
