There are many different ways.
usually the seller/service provider will tell you how they are willing to recieve it.
The most straightforward methods are:
Electronic Bank Transfer
Credit Card Payment
PayPal or similar
You can also send a cheque, but they are not going to like it.
The costs of transfer can be quite high when only sending $25 and I would suggest that Credit Card would be the cheapest.
OR: Have a friend in the US that can pay for you and you reimburse in your own way.
OR:
Why not send it round to me and I'll take it next time I go!!:D

I Have bought a few things from America on eBay and if I can't paypal them I usually send Dollars in cash. Coop travel don't charge for exchanging and if you get large bills, in your case a $20 and a $5, wrap them in a couple of A4 sheets and post them off. I've never had any problems.

My bank has just confirmed that I cannot write a cheque out in dollars! (I thought that I had done it in the past)
My bank's minimum charge on an Electronic Transfer is £10!
Other possibilities:
Is it not still worth it for $50 for a year? (Total cost of $25 by Electronic Transfer)
Do you want to pay for a few years in advance? (to spread the transfer costs)
Have you not got a friend with a credit card? You can agree to pay them, say, £15 ($25 plus conversion charges)

just find a new provider in the UK and transfer your domain to them.
Instant Website from www.1and1.co.uk is a pretty good deal - certainly a lot easier than messing about with dollars!
