Rhyming slang is entirely made up by whoever says it. It was created as a way to confuse Irish and Scottish workers. What sort of homework was she doing?

Aussie slang Pat malone= by your self.,

China is "mate".

Just to add....the thing I find funny about northern folk is that when they realise I am a southerner (and not Australian!) they do fake cockney accents and include the WHOLE of the rhyming slang....that the use the key word as well and all I do is collapse in heaps of laughter.

Oh well just got up must go down the apples and pears for a cup of rosie lee seeing as my china plate did not bring me one in bed :hihi:

Best rhyming slang I ever heard was when I got my car serviced in South London. When I picked it up, the mechanic said "All done Mate, I put you a bit of Arthur in there cos you was a bit low" When I asked him what Arthur was, he said "Arthur Conan Doyle Mate...OIL"
