Last w/e Nick Matthew became The World No 1 squash player.
Nick was born and bred in Sheffield, and indeed still lives in Sheffield.
Its a shame our "high quality" local paper seems to have missed this great good news story.
I'm not sure you wanted a response but it seems everyone has bypassed your post to. I agree it's good news but obviously the misery of this forum will hide/squash any positive news in a flash.

The good old Sheffield Star, cutting edge journalism at its best.
Well done Nick!

There were 2 lines about it in the Star last night - compared to many column inches about Andy Murray :(

Now he is a legend! Remember him being at the top of the sport 9 years ago when I started downhill.

Squash is a problem sport, because the better the contestants are at playing, the more boring it is to watch.
Hi everybody,
I'm new in Sheffield and I like squash. Congratulations for being Squash #1. And...
Where can I watch a proffesional squash match? May be here in Sheffield? May be in TV?
Thank you,
Hector

Nick plays at Hallamshire Tennis and Squash club. Sometimes they have live internet streaming of his games at the club.
