Next weekend will be the busiest time at garden centres for the buying of bedding plants. I plan to buy mine next Wednesday so I get the best choice of colours and quality, but will this week be too early to plant them in the garden ?

Why next weekend? I put mine in ages ago. They have gone a funny brown colour and shrivelled up though.

Its always been around the first week in June to put them in, thus the busy weekend next week.

fingers crossed the frosts have passed - I'd put them out - keep an eye on nighttime temperatures and fleece or cover with newspaper if frost is forecast. I've put my squashes, beans & sweetcorn in - they're all tender plants.

I began putting mine in over the weekend (in the evenings however, because it was too hot during the day). I hope to finish planting by the end of the week.
They have forecast a frost, but for the north of England. Now I know we're 'up norf' but I think we'll be fine, I reckon they mean Northumberland etc. As M says, just have some fleece/newspaper handy.
