Ok this is my 2nd pair of hair striaghtners that have blew up, one pair were GHD about 4 years pld, the others were from Argos 2 years old. can anybody recommend an excellent pair of hair striaghtners, any price. . . . .

I use Kodo ones, they are as good as GHD's. A couple of my friends don't use GHD's anymore as they seem to blow up??!!

Kodo's go to 210 degrees so you get poker straight hair!!

I'm sure you would get some on Ebay for a decent price.

I got Kodo's for £29.00 on Ebay - they're excellent.

I have gone through a few straighteners but my latest ones (remington wet 2 straight) are really good. I purchased them on ebay brand new from the usa for around £30 inc delivery! They Have automatically ajust to the voltage so you just need to change the 2 pin plug to a 3 pin. I have had them around 9 mths now.

The wet 2 straight ones are amazing.

I was wary at first, it felt so wrong to hear my hair fizzing but the steam really keeps the moisture in and makes my hair really easy to manage, which is a miracle in itself!

GHDs all the way. I've had mine for 5 years and (touch wood) they are still going strong.

I bought some corioliss pro (professional) a year ago and they have been wonderful upto 210 degrees. they look alot like GHD but are a hell of alot cheaper! I have long hair and they get it poker straight and havent damaged my hair like cheaper hair straighteners

i have got some md tool ones.they were £70 or £80 from the hairdressing salon at hillsborough near the fishmongers and fabric shop.ive had them 2 or 3 years now and they've been really good ones.my sister borrowed them and she said she personally thought they were as good as, if not better, than ghd.

I had some Remington power ones for about 2 1/2 years and they were fab, the were just £16 in the sale at boots so I snapped them up! lol

I just bought a new pair the other day from Boots again, this time I got some Vidal Sassoon retro cream ceramics 1" plate and they're fab!!! They were just £19.99 in the sale again! lol :D

Just seen the price of the ones on your link... £59.95 i wouldnt be best pleased knowing i had forked out almost £100 when i could have spent a little less :? ah! we always live and learn huh! lol

PS... I found my straightners on eBay... got a fab deal and they are the best i have used... Caprice is the name (solid ceramic) i did my research on the net before purchasing and they were voted 10/10 so thought i would go ahead...

The deal was 2 sets for £39.95 plus a fiver p&p (RRP is £45 - £50 for one set... we're talking almost £100 for the pair!) what a bargain!

The problem with GHD straightners was on Watchdog a couple of weeks back. They have apparently sorted the problem out now.

i agree with you about the kodo hair straightners but mine bloody blew up last week ive had them 2 years and they were smashing , best ones ive ever had seems its not only ghd that tend to blow up

I bought Kodo straighteners from an hairdressers called 'the Marcel Wave' on Holme Lane at Hillsborough about 3 years ago. They are excellent and I think they cost me about £55 at the time.:)

Send your GHD's back and get new ones.

I agree with this (and the other poster who recommended them). They are sold by someone in S5, are excellent quality and just as good as GHD's (I have both, these were bought as a second pair to take on holiday). They really are fantastic, made in the same factory as GHDs.
