Over the last couple of weeks there have been several car break-ins in the Hillsbro park area of Sheffield. Is this just the area getting a bad helping of crime or are car break-ins up in other areas.

The vehicles are not stolen. It looks like those responsible are after stereos and anything that may have been left in the vehicle - such as mobile phones and the like.

Never leave valuables or personal items in your car - no matter how secure you think it may be.

Anyone any more info on this apparently sudden growth in car crime in what used to be a reasonable quiet area?

Theft of Sat Nav equipment seems to be a key contributor from what I've heard. Don't know if it's just Hillsbro tho.
