View Full Version : Does anyone remember this program? Mr&MrsRadish 20-05-2010, 17:53 I had the book from the series given to me, a while back and have just come across this in the archivesClick if you are interested. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/whatwewore/5605.shtml) JillM 20-05-2010, 20:49 How fab is that! Wonder if Pam knows that going metric is still causing problems with needle sizes!! The series should be on a DVD :) Wheezy 20-05-2010, 23:18 I am far too young to remember that. :D Wool4brains 21-05-2010, 09:05 It's a pity that we can't compare it with current knitting programmes on tv. I can see no end of craft/hobby programmes on Sky, building boats and cars, woodworking, making sheds and to me there looks to be a big gaping hole. Where is the stuff that I do? I suspect that there are more knitters in the country than people with well equipped woodshops in their garage although I bet the numbers have dropped from the 50% of the female population that they quoted in 1976. I am about to go off on one (again) so time for a cup of tea. Mr&MrsRadish 21-05-2010, 15:17 I saw a 'program' on one of the craft home shopping channels quite a while back trying to sell us a knit your own scarf pack and it was as dull as dishwater. The presenter sat asking questions about the scarf and the knitter answering them in a "what on earth am i supposed to say to make this sound interesting" tone. Perhaps we should bombard the BBC with e-mails asking for the return of programs like this. That way Jonathan Ross' wage packet could be put to good use. |
