According to this story on SKY NEWS (http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-13431080,00.html) nPower sponsors of the Ashes series series are wanting the whole nation to sing the hymn Jerusalem at 10.25 am tomorrow morning :loopy: as a show of support for the England cricket team before they go into the final test which starts tomorrow at the Oval.
A very fine idea but personally I think that we would have been better off organising an all-night rave outside the Australian team hotel tonight, together with a 4 am firework display and a 'see who has the loudest in car sound system' contest too.

ROFL! Love it!
I love Jerusalem....for some odd reason I found myself humming it when I was walking to the office this morning. Such a superb song that sheould definitely be England's National Anthem - the Scots have Flowers of Scotland, the Welsh Land of My Fathers or Bread of Heaven....we need Jerusalem!

No I will be doing a 2 minute silence for the poor souls who lost their lives in Hurricane Katrina and have yet to be 'remembered' in a humane and dignified way!!
Why doesn't the media and government show this natural disaster some respect!!

But I have to say I love daverity's idea. Maybe we could try and entice Glen McGrath out for a game of touch rugby too? You know, with strategically placed cricket balls on the ground and all that.
Jerusalem should definitely be the national anthem. It's a beautiful, powerful song, whereas God Save the Queen is a horrible dirge.

Good yes but prefer 'Land of Hope & Glory', maybe we should have 2 anthems eh?
