CAMPING DETAILS

Hi all,

Meeting at 2pm at Edale BIG cark park near the train station, before we can get on to the campsite at 4.
We're going to have games, and a general get together in Edale before wandering up to the campsite.

We're booked into Cotefield Farm in Edale. We have a camping barn booked for the night, and also have the field as an 'overspill'.

It's £7 for the night, for both camping and the barn, payable to me before we go to the campsite.
Your very own SFBC will be sorting you out with a bit of a BBQ in the evening as well (bring your own drinks). It's also only a short walk down to the pub in Edale as well.

The barn has space for 8 people, but please be aware it is very very basic. ie: you still need to take everything you would if you were camping (save a tent!).
It is a barn with a single wooden sleeping platform.
We still have space for two in the barn.

The facilities on site are basic. No showers, a chemical toilet and a small area for cooking. It's not a luxury place - but we're not expecting you to be Ray Mears

I'd strongly encourage taking the train to get out to Edale. I already know of a small party getting the train out there so it could be part of the trip itself!

Trains leave at 14 minutes past the hour from Sheffield Station, and tickets are £5.50.

Unfortunately space on site is limited, and as we can't get on until about 4, people taking cars will have to pay at Edale car park while we play games.

The plan is as follows;
Saturday
2pm Meet at Edale car park
4pm Go to get pitched at Cotefield Farm
6pm BBQ
8pm Pub (less than a mile walk)

Sunday
Get up - breakfast
Before 10am Leave site, load up cars with bags for storage.
Walk up Mam Tor (strong footwear and appropriate clothing recommended)
Pub lunch
Back to Sheffield.

I think I've covered it all here - any questions, let me know.
Edale has no mobile phone signal, and the nearest cash machine is in the Post Office in Hope.

Chris, should I bring my guitar and tambourine? I only know kumbaya and Cliff Richard's We Don't Talk Anymore but I guess we could just play them repeatedly?

A big thanks to everyone involved in the organisation of the camping trip, the campsite was in the perfect location (nice one Chris), and the bbq was awesome - thanks Paul for sorting it out and doing the cooking. We couldn't have asked for better weather either!

Hope the rest of you had a good time on the sunday walking up Mam Tor, eating scones and milling around Edale.....
