Hiya, I used to run the Classic Rock Bar which was similar to the places you mention. I do DJ at a few places now to keep the music flowing (Moorfoot Tavern - Saturday evenings; White Bear in Ecclesfield on Friday nights). Hope to see you there! Come up and say hi.

Not much in Sheffield nowadays.

ClassicRock off here DJ's at the Moorfoot Tavern on Saturdays which i would say is more to your taste...classic rock?

Nelson on the Moor is quite good on a saturday, more for the younger crowd though down stairs again its more classic rock. Are you interested in nightclubs? Then there is the corp which has a classic rock room. Plus a goth room and more modern and rockier upstairs.

Dove & Rainbow (i think) is more alternative for punks and alternative.

Maybe best to contact GoldenFleece on here, he seems to know his stuff.

Buffy yr doing a brill job :) People are aslo welcome in the sporty on sat afternoon and in the Tap and Barrel sunday nights where they can find Shez doing her rock gigs.

i think i'll stick wi the ppl i know - like shez and buffy who play the best music i've heard in a long time - or since mark, les and ken!!!!!. Sandie and Annette?. i like all types of rock but industrial,gothic and glam (80's) still remains my favourite. I cant really add much to what has been said above....except MONDAY nights is BEDROCK at the BEDROOM bar on West street which is fairly cool.......

The Corporation is the ONLY rock club, although some people may like CASBAH on Saturday nights except it gets a bit "townie" and its a very varied mix of music from classic rock to a lot of 80's mainstream 'alternative' music....

we do need much more in this town though......NOT NEARLY ENOUGH

sandie and her sister Jan are friends of mine, not dj'ing anymore unfortunately. classic rock venues sadly lacking in sheffield now - even 5 years ago was much better!!

Talkin' about the Nelson really takes me back in time. I remember it from the 70's when I spent every night either in there or The Albert!! Anyone else remember them? Really good mural?? on wall in Nelson and very dark - everything else a bit of a haze.

There is a VERY good chance that wall mural still exists underneath the paint.......

HIGHWAY CHILD (60's/70's )blues , rock cover band are doing a special showcase night at the the grapes in sheffield on the 14 nov .

playing classic tunes from , hendrix , cream , santana etc...

mark it in your diary's - this is gonna be one hell of a night !!!
