A female friend would like to go on her own for a spa weekend somewhere. She is vegan and looking for somewhere relaxing where she can detox, spend time in a pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and have relaxing treatments.
Does any one have any suggestions or recommendations

Wragdale Hall (or is it Ragdale) in Leicestershire is pretty stunning. A web search will find it.
I visited once for the day - beautiful surroundings and very nice folk. Particularly peaceful.
Amongst other exotic things, they had a chocolate body wrap type affair (like a mud bath), but I can imagine that wouldn't please a vegan necessarily.
I'm sure they do soya milk and gravel on the menu though:)
Eden Hall Spa, Newark is the one many friends/neighbours have been too...although I have not been myself!
Will edit with website details if I find any!!
:D

They sell deals on ebay from time to time...keep your eyes open!

Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire (near Melton Mowbray) is stunning.
I went for the weekend in July and didn't want to leave! It's not cheap (around £150 per night per person in a twin room, full board), but it's well worth it.
Their website is here:

You can sometimes get special offers which work out a bit cheaper.
Men and women can go, though women outnumber men about 15:1. Quite a few women were on their own, and I'd be totally happy going alone, even though I went in a group of four.
Thoresby Hall Hotel have a wonderful spa. I went there with a friend back in February, it was lovely, really relaxing and the treatments were superb. I'm off again next week for a friends birthday. It's not far from Sherwood forest, see this link for more details:

The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful as is the hotel itself, and I wouldn't feel uncomfortable if i were to go alone either.
