We've been looking to purchase a house on Oakdale Road, North Anston and was wondering what it is like there? What are the surrounding areas like? What the shops are like etc?

My Mother in Law lived in North Anston for about 6 years. She lived off Quarry Lane which is the opposite end to Oakdale Rd.

The park is nice and there is a newish playground next to the surgery but it was always full of older lads who didn't make the younger kids feel welcome.

No doubt it will be trashed soon just like the old playground.

Can't comment on crime, noise etc, but I just didn't feel comfortable there.

Anyone else please?

A magnet for all the hoodies. Especially around the chemist opposite the Cutler and the park. They usually spill out on to the pavement and road.
They are no harm but can be intimidating particularly as the numbers can be 20 plus on a friday and saturday evening.

the place is a sespit love.full of hookers,crackheads.drunks.the lads in the park are only there to let people no that they are big kids.thats why they have their hoods up when its blazing sunshine as if its raining.or they cant take a little heat.anyway the choice is yours.good look and keep me posted on how your getting on and if you ever leave your husband im always available depending on what you look like

are we all talking about the same Oakdale Road, North Anston here? As we went there again last night and there is no park near, not that we could see anyway as their are fields.
Other houses are looked after and it seemed very quite.

The park is over the main road and up the hill a bit from where Oakdale Road is, don't listen to that Shaun...there are no hookers, crackheads etc etc...the only problem on that park is the kids, but that's only because there's not alot else to do in the area at evenings and weekends. Most of the kids go to other areas to hang around so that area is usually pretty quiet during the day time and they're pretty harmless. I live on Main Street in the old village and we walk pretty much everywhere because everything we need is near by...Tesco, pub, post office, doctors surgery, shops, butchers and literally minutes off the M1 and close to Clumber Park! I moved to the area from Sheffield city centre and I have never looked back! Good Luck!! :)
