I am looking for anyone with Proctor connections in and around Sheffield, particularly Bradfield, Wadsley and Loxley areas. Other names connected with my Proctor's are TRICKETT, BUCKLEY, TURNER, RIVINGTON, BEAL, BASFORD, SPOONER, LOCKWOOD, MORTON, ABRAHAMS, DENTON, LINGARD, WALTON, OLIVER, WOOD, and HOWE. Any of these names ring any bells?

I live at Wadsley and my maiden name is Proctor. I don't recall any of the names listed . My father John Proctor was from Heeley. His fathers name was Leonard (Paddy) also from Heeley but I'm not sure if that particular srand was from Bolton. Are you from Wadsley? Hope this may be of some use.

There used to be a large family called Denton that lived down Rudyard Road (Hillsborough) many years ago, I'm not sure if any of them moved up Wadsley though.

Hi Scout and Valentine.....thanks for the response....I am not myself from Wadsley. The Proctor, Denton, etc families I mentioned were not exclusively from Bradfield, Wadsley etc but most of them originated in those areas. I should imagine by now all those names I mentioned would be scattered all over Sheffield and indeed further afield!
I am hoping someone will be able to connect at least two of the names to themselves......that would be great news. There must be several hundred cousins of one sort or another in and around Sheffield, ans surely at least one of them reads this forum!:thumbsup:

hi i have the names ,george proctor,mary emma proctor ,my grandparents,charles harvey proctor,jessie proctor my dad and auntie,dad was born at 33 walkley bank road,not sure if this will help you,but you never know :D

There was a David Proctor living on Walders Avenue, Wadsley around 1990.

Hello, my mother's maiden name is Proctor and her father was Walter who had sister Alice and brother Alf who hail from Leppings Lane @ Hillsborough, I think?
