Hi peeps
a while ago i installed quicktime to use with creative suite.
this has set it as the default viewer when accessing 'external e' (my card reader that i use to view my camera pics)
unfortunately it will only show thumbnails and when double clicking on the pic all you got was the frame/box for quick time and no picture.
so i decided to erase /delete quicktime and go back to prev prog to view.
have deleted qt from progs menu, and then all except two that i found when 'search files' (because qt was still operating) - the two left when clicked on show ' undo delete' so i think these must be the two i deleted first time from the prog menu.
BUT qt is still there operating and opening the card reader pics - help please!
thanks

go to "control panel"

then "add/remove programs"

then find "quicktime player" (or maybe "apple quicktime player")

click "uninstall"

Change the file association in Folder Options in Control Panel so that the pics aren't opened with QT.

hi peeps,
thanks for your help.
went to control panel /folders/etc and changed it.

worked a treat after finding which opened it the fastest.

still little curious as to how / why qt is/was still running/opening files after i had deleted it

thanks again - think sheff forum is best thing on net/web - and the people using it some of the friendliest and most helpful i have come across.

You obviously didn't delete it. By the looks of it you only deleted the shortcuts which point to the QuickTime program. The actual program itself is somewhere else within Windows.
