(three cheers for sheff forum) JoeP 06-09-2005, 09:52 Being an uncool person..... Can you point me at this august publication? Thanks for letting us know! :D Joe Carl_Malibu 06-09-2005, 09:53 uhhr it usually just appears in our house. i reckon you can find it in jacks reckords, low life records, record collector, and such indie stores as that. Carl_Malibu 06-09-2005, 09:55 ahah we get a "no" too didnt notice that. hehehe Classic Rock 06-09-2005, 09:56 Is this a new language that I've missed learning? Perhaps you could type up the transcript of what it says about us? Might make things easier. Debk 06-09-2005, 09:59 Originally posted by Classic Rock Is this a new language that I've missed learning? I missed that class too ..... please translate JoeP 06-09-2005, 09:59 Well, you can't please all of the people, all of the time. :) I doubt it will change us.... :) Joe Carl_Malibu 06-09-2005, 10:01 just for posterities sake : "YO: Sheffield forum: super useful (answers any question you have on Sheffield) plus there are some really nice people on here. And it all gets emotional sometimes; for instance, today a woman used the forum to find her lost dog" "NO: Sheffield Forum: Officious and self-important. Plus theres loads of posts on here more right wing than a nazi aeroplane turning right. So much for a family forum" Classic Rock 06-09-2005, 11:43 Nowt new or original then. Andy C 06-09-2005, 11:49 What they don't say is when exreme right wing views are expressed, there is usually a lot of people tearing the argument apart. However surely a sign of a good forum is when it comes to a serious debate, both opposing view points are represented and people are able to think about the issue and come to their own conclusion in an intelligent way. And in fairness, the 'right wing' label gets thrown about pretty readily these days... Carl_Malibu 06-09-2005, 12:10 theres definately a strong right wing contingent here, which is strange as sheffield is considered quite a socialist city. meh stop focusing on the negatives it said nice things too :) JoeP 06-09-2005, 12:49 Carl, I have to agree with what others have said - right wing views are expressed, as are left wing and liberal views. I guess what the publication MEANT to say was that we allow right wing views to be expressed without throwing people off the Forum for being fascists. It may be that their editorial policy prevents them from allowing an expression of views that depart from their 'line'. ;) Joe Captain_Scarlet 06-09-2005, 17:16 Originally posted by Carl_Malibu we all got a "YO" from go sheffo. now aint that something to be proud of!
