Broomhill Neighbourhood Action group is organising Broomhill’s first community food fair as part of June’s city wide celebration of food.
A Taste of Broomhill will run from 10am to 4pm, on Saturday 5th June.
There will be an outdoor market showcasing quality local food producers and suppliers at 'The Mount' (off Glossop Road). Local businesses taking a stall for the day include Feel Good Cakes; Mr Lamb's butchers; Belleau Bridge Smokery; Our Cow Molly; Bradfield Brewery; Sheff’s Special; Lincolnshire Poacher; Catherine’s Choice; El Toro; Sheffield Country Market and Lambarelli’s Pasta Sauce. To amuse the children the Sweet Theatre will be making handmade sweets.
The venue has a lovely picnic lawn with stunning views over the Porter Valley, lots of places to sit and enjoy a picnic lunch from the market stalls while listening to live music. This will be provided by the Sheffield University MusicSoc Sax Group who will play at 12.00 and the four part harmony group, the Abbeydale Singers: who will be on at 1.30 and 2.30
'The Mount' will also be the focus for local food and ale trails around the Broomhill centre, which will allow people to explore the area and sample food and drink from local cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops.
The whole event is free.
