so sorry to hear that felinegirl. mine went missing a few months ago for 4 nights, but came home, smile on his face as if he had done absolutely nothing wrong. it breaks your heart thinking of all the bad things, doesnt it?

have faith, these are crazy creatures and do inexplicable things. i really do hope you get him back soon.

dont forget to contact the rspca and local cat shelters. stick posters up around the area.

good luck chuck :)

I'd contact vets, rescues and leaflet the area too. Good Luck in finding him - I hope he turns up safe and sound soon!

Hi

You need to get your details on the lost&found register at the Sheffield Cats Shelter (2724441 any afternoon 1-4. If you get the ansaphone keep trying- staff are busy) as it's the only register operating in Sheffield at the moment.

It really does work. Last Wednesday we reunited a kitten with his owners within half an hour. Keep your fingers crossed.

Also try phoning the Cleansing Department (2734567) as they keep a register of animals found dead. Dreadful to think of, I know, but knowing that they haven't been picked up can be a comfort.

Other than that, all I can say is put up posters, post leaflets, knock doors, ask people and call all the local vets and the PDSA hospital, and other local rescue centres too. The Shelter will have all the relevant numbers for you to try.

If he's taken in to a centre that hasn't been warned, you will have a little over a fortnight to claim him as that's how long a course of vaccinations takes.

If he's insured you should have a budget to produce posters and leaflets, and to offer a reward. If he's chipped they can also send a notification to local rescue centres for you too.

Good luck- take your strength from the fact that two other missing cats (and a missing hawk too) posted this week have been found safe and well.

thank you everyone for advise. We put up a load of posters, but being a student area, a lot keep getting torn down. contacted the street force team. Luckily no reply yet so hopefully that means he's not been found dead!! forgot to mention on earlier post he has no tail. am so used to him not having one, i tend to forget he should!! If you're in the area please keep your eyes peeled. xx
