Hi All,

I launched my new website business a couple of days ago:

www[dot]mojogenius.com

It’s a website that emails you when your girlfriend/wife/workmates/you (delete as appropriate) is going to get PMT. Possibly the worlds most useful website? :)

I would be very interested in any feedback anyone has to offer as I am still developing the product and I intend to make many improvements in the coming months.

Thanks!

Only kidding of course! Well, it sure is different. And from what I can see, you are a man! Hmmm, so what made you set this up? I'm just curious!

The ads stick out like a sore thumb, so it looks like a site that wants to make mone but wouoldnt you be better off puttin up ads which are relevant to your target market, or women at least? What has domain registrations got to do with anything on your website? Nothing! The world of websites (and setting them up) is male-dominated, so choose your banner ads carefully.

Your website isnt optimised to reach your target market through the search engines so cant add anything further there.

I see you want my details to find out more...im not prepared to do that on an unknown website where I dont know why you need my personal details such as DOB. The gender one is odd, as this test surely cannot work for the male gender?

These are just observations you may encounter as barriers to sign up.

Id like tos ee more about what this test or monitoring actually is - a sample of what I can expect to see/receive if I sign up.

Hi Indizine,

Thanks for taking the time to get back to me. :)

> so what made you set this up? I'm just curious!

Originally the idea was to create a website to warn me (as a chap) about when I need to be a little more attentive to my partner at that point of her cycle. I talked to my friends about the idea and I realised that it was the girls who were enthused by the idea in using the site rather than the chaps (to track their own cycles and their friends PMT). Which is daft really; you would think that men would jump at a website like this.

All the other sites available are designed for men and they are either border line offensive or just plain offensive (there is one called 'trackmybitch.com - very distasteful).

This is why we have attempted to design MojoGenius to be female friendly. Plus our tech is way cleverer (you don't need to enter period start days with our system, just pmt days).

> im not prepared to do that on an unknown website where I dont know why you need
> my personal details such as DOB.

DOB is used to prevent users below 16 and also to do a security check if you need to recover your password. Its quiet innocent, honest. :)

> The gender one is odd, as this test surely cannot work for the male gender?

As a chap joining you have the option to add the ladies who are important in your life after you first login.

As a lady joining the system sets you up as a person who wants to track her pmt (you don't have to, its easily disabled) and you then have the option of adding additional females who are important in your life.

I am pleased to see this. A few people have mentioned this and its the top of my todo list at the moment. :)

Enjoy your back episodes of Jeremy Kyle!

Just under a year to get the whole thing done. It took a lot more back end code than I expected! I got a former college to do the graphics for a decent fee.

Congratulations; this post has put a big smile on my face (thankfully my wife does not read them!):hihi:

'Lads' magazines became very big in the '90's so all the very best with this...site looks very professional too.

Thanks for the reply. It's always good to see someone asking for a reb site review taking every point in good spirit, good or bad.

Good luck with it anyway.

Thanks Indizine. I will post again when I have updated the site with the additional content that we have on the way.

It's a certainly interesting idea!

If you want to hook up sending text messages from the site as well I can probably help.

Hi All,

It took a lot longer than expected, but the latest version of MojoGenius is now up! It much friendlier, devastatingly accurate and a doddle to use.

Interestingly, since launching early last year nearly all the users who have joined the site have been women. I think men are just too thick to see the value of a site that can help relationships!

If anyone could take the time to look and make any comments I would appreciate it.

Kind Regards.

Trackmybitch? haha, what a website name.

I think its an interesting idea, im not sure men would actually use it..... BUT if you could incorporate some other things into it also, so its a kind of directory of all things to help men not get in trouble then it could work!

One big thing jumped out at me - when I land on the page, I have no idea what you're about. I had to search and read the welcome text. It isn't immediately obvious what you do/sell.

I also dont see the relevance of the 123-Reg domain affiliate ads. Advertise only relevant stuff for conversion to sales. Why dont you offer banner advertising to private investigators?

PS Important woman not women....hopefully you wouldnt be tracking any more than your partners cycle.

Hi Snoopjiggy,

It seems that most of our users are women who use it to track themselves and track each other (mainly their collogues I think).

One of my friends used it to track her boss. One morning she got an email from MojoGenius warning that her boss was going to get PMT. Then later in the day in a meeting the boss announced to everyone present, 'I don't know why, but I really want to kill someone right now!'.

Scary stuff. :)

Yep - its a tricky problem. Hence the tour buttons on the main page.

Google ads is producing some od adds for the site at the moment. I am looking into this.

Is this a setup for a joke about Philip Marlow like "private dick"? :)

I don't like the design or the colours.

Particularly the pink text, it's hard to read, especially when it's over the pinkish background photo. You need more contrast between your text & background colour to make it easier to read.

It's hard to make a site with a dark background look good, be clear & easy to read, I don't think you're there yet. White or lighter coloured backgrounds (particularly for areas containing text) are much easier to work with.

Also, why do you ban users under 16?

No expert but I think this could be better served as a site for women to keep track and discuss (god knows why). Women like to talk about these things, men dont give a monkeys as far as I can tell (I know plenty of men, being a Man and all and its true! sorry ladies!).

The site instantly spits out to me as being too dark, you need to work on using lighter and easier colours on the site.

Like simple white's, light blues, etc...

Apart from that the concept is not bad, a real out the box idea, but in all honesty it's looks a tough site to drive traffic to.
