Only 75 places met the criteria of a ten minute period with no interruption from intrusive noise between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm. Examples of intrusive noise are road traffic, people (not including your companions), off-road vehicles and motorbikes, planes, industry, amplified noise, and explosions.

Only 75 places in the UK classed as "tranquil"? Surely not!! There must be more places that meet the criteria? Do you know of anywhere? I think where my parents live could be close but I'll have to see next time I go home as its on a public footpath and some planes do come over occasionally.
Is anybody else as disturbed as I am about the lack of quiet in the UK now?
