I catch the 75/76 bus into town and then catch a 52 back into Attercliffe to get to work.

As of today they have closed off Spital Hill inwards and so the buses are diverted down Gower Street onto Sunderland Street and back onto Attercliffe Road.

This itself is not really a problem except as the bus comes down Sunderland Street and turns onto Attercliffe Road I can see my office and cannot get off the bus because there aren't any bus stops, so I have to go all the into the Wicker and then come back practically the same way.

I have now got to spend the next 12 months (at least) passing within spitting distance of my office only to be driven in the opposite direction.

And the kids are back at school so the roads are busier too... have you thought about opening the fire exit and jumping out near your office? Think the door is linked to the brakes...

Actually I have had the same frustration with the 53 bus when going to the pubs down the Kelham Island area such as Kelham Island Tavern, Fat Cat and Riverside bar. You used to be able to get off on the junction of Nursery Street/Corporation Street/Mowbray Street, now the bus is diverted via West Bar/Corporation Street and comes out at the same junction by the Riverside Bar, but the first stop out of town is a mile further down Mowbray Street, so it is quicker to get off in town and walk.

Oh for the good old days when you could jump off the open back of the bus.I remember someone regularly doing this at the top of Psalter Lane by pushing off backwards when the Bus was about to drop down the hill.
He never hurt himself but I think a "don't try this at home "warning is appropriate!!!!!
