Any one know where to buy premature baby clothes? Have seen tiny baby clothes but they are to big!!

how much does the baby weigh?? mothercare have tiny baby that go from 3-4lbs-5lbs i have to get them for my little girl

Mammas and Pappas have prem sizes for most of their ranges- they have a branch at Meadowhall that had loads in when I needed to buy some in a hurry.

I should think by their very nature,they are always something that has to be bought in a hurry! They are not something you would ever be able to order in advance.

I don't see why you feel the need to post a sarcastic response. Having a premature baby is a very difficult thing to cope with as I know from personal experience and I would imagine that the person who posted the initial query can do without such unhelpful responses.

We were able to get premature baby clothes easily from Mothercare, and other shops offer early baby and tiny baby alternatives, although not quite so readily. Hope all is ok.

just a thought but I also used baby annabell clothes for my new baby. they fitted much better than even premature baby clothes and my other daughters got the pleasure out of them once I had finished with them :-)

There are specialist suppliers of premature clothes but they can be quite pricey... working with premature babies I know that the staff will be able to advise you as they can sometimes need easy access for drips etc... the mothercare range are quite well thought out. Don't be tempted to buy too many tiny clothes as they do grow out of them fairly quickly xx

Ive been buying Ellies from mothercare they start at 3lb and the design is fantastic. They Velcro completely down the sides so that all the wires can be moved around freely. The only drawback is there are only a few styles available.

Boots i've found have been the best as they have velcro fastenings for the wires to fit through easily, sorry not sure how premature. They're really teeny tiny as well.

yes you're right, we did have some vests and sleepsuits with the velcro from there too. forgot about them! were really nice too

The drawback with mothercare though is that as soon as any of the 3lb/4lb/5lb outfits come into stock they get whipped up so you may have to order them and wait a few days for them like I had too.

this post brought back lots of memories my tiny baby is now a fit healthy 22 year old!! I still remember trying to clothe her in new born clothes and discovering they were all miles too big. Yes I too resorted to dolls clothing and prem baby gear. As she grew she had cuffs and legs turned up till she filled them properly!!! the time just flies!

I got mine from mothercare online, they delivered really quickly. Good luck and hope she is well. My little girl was born prematurely in January at 3lbs 14oz and in 15 weeks she has grown to 9lbs 4oz and she is a little smiling star. This time will seem a world away shortly I know its horrid at the minute. P.s. I would not buy too many my daughter has grown through four sizes now in 15 weeks; prem, early baby, tiny baby, newborn.

I found the Bliss website really good for advice and they have good forums. x

Of course you can predict it sometimes. Plenty of premature births are expected, or even planned for many reasons- unstable blood pressure, growth retardation, multiple birth, birth abnormalities, premature rupture of membranes, unwell mother (for a huge number of reasons). Similarly, there are various factors why even if a baby goes to term, they are more often than not much smaller than singleton babys so will still need premature baby clothes. These again include all of the above reasons. This is more often than not, predictable way before the birth.

Of course, the majority of premature births are unexpected, but with a large number you can have weeks or even months notice.

I'm sure you meant no harm and are merely commenting on what you know personally or experiences you've heard of, however, as someone mentioned, the OP obviously needs help and should get it without sweeping statements from people who clearly have no idea what they're talking about!

what a disgraceful post. i can see the exact point he was trying to make, the vast majority of premature births are unexpected. i have no idea why anyone would take such offence at such a post, and why the OP would be bothered me it. unbelievable.

I bought two hats from this site for my sister when she gave birth prem2pram wonderful site and great value too, ranging from 1lb upwards, even clothes for a speacial care unit, check it out

my lad's 23 - 27 week baby weighed 1lb 10oz (he's 6'4" now and about 18 stone). I used to get baby doll clothes for him too from the Toy Stores which were just the right size for him. prem clothes were very expensive even back then and very difficult to get hold of. I used to knit quite a few baby doll clothes as well, when he finally left Jessops at 6 months he'd outgrown them so left them all there for the other prem babies. at least now they do prem baby nappies back then he had to have the smallest nappy and even that was way too big for him.

Hi, Hope baby is well! Mamas and Papas do some lovely items in a prem range think they are up to 5lbs though. Not sure if you will have time to go but there is a Mamas and Papas Factory Shop in Huddersfield (about 30 mins from sheffield) they have half price baby clothes and accessories you may be able to get some clothes from there. They have some real bargains. All the items are brand new and most of the stuff is still in the shop in meadowhall. Maybe worth giving them a ring before you set off to check what they have in so you dont have a wasted journey.

sorry to interupt ur post but i was wondering if anybody had any ideas were i could possibly buy some white or ivoy girls shoes or even the slipper type. my little girl still has really tiny feet n iv tried everywere mothercare,next,mamas n papas, pumpkin patch,gap and places like oliver's ect and cnt find anything small enough for her. i need them for in a weeks time when she gets christened , so internet not reali a option x
