Just thought I'd tell you all something cool my mum told me today...

She and rest of family (I had to stay here because I was working last night, boooo  ) went to our friends' canal boat yesterday to stay overnight (been doing so all summer). They went to a pub in the evening and the landlord requested for her and my little sister to play some music (on their melodeons) which they did.

A man from a group of people sitting nearby came over and spent the whole evening telling them how fantastic they played, and bought them drinks.

A woman from his group of friends later came over and asked my mum and sister 'I bet he hasn't told you what he does, have you?'

Turned out he was an animator for Danger Mouse, and he proceeded to go over to his table and open a big box full of original cells! He gave a handpainted original cell of DM and a pencil drawing by the head animator of Danger Mouse and Penfold having pencilly fun.

Mum won't let me flog them on EBay....

How... bizarre!

Thaks for sharing that with us though. I'm still trying to find the moral of the story. If you play good music, people give you things seems to be the gist of it, am I right?

Maybe I should go to bed?

It's good to hear music played for pleasure, not for profit...

I'm glad he appreciated it! :)

Bloody hell you don't know much about trad do ya!

Who cares about the cash? It's all about the fun!

Recommendation - Sunday nights (tonight was one, so next one is 2 Sundays from now) at the Kelham Island Tavern. Lots of people playing English and international music for fun!

maybe I could bring my triangle along? ... I've almost mastered how to play it... It's just a matter of getting the timing right now...

Actually, I'm about as musically talented as the average X-factor contestant, I'm afraid... :(

You don't have to play, just come and listen, drink some beer, and meet some new people!
