this weekend has been REALLY awful. 2MB connection it is supost to be but getting speeds lower than a 512KB.
Judging from their forums this isp stinks. A shame cause its sheffield based.
Pipex was way more better. Their 1MB connection was fasterthan this.....
No problems from me the few times I've been on this weekend both at my house and at my partner's. We're both on Plusnet 2MB and been getting normal speeds.
I've never really had any problems with Plusnet, but reading their forum, looks like I'm a lucky one :)
I've also been getting normal 2Mb speeds.
Are you talking p2p download speeds or http/ftp based ones? Have you also considered that exchange contention could be a factor?
Been spot on for me as they have been for the past 16 months I have been with them.

Any-one still experiencing slow connection speeds with PlusNet?
Mine rarely go above 1Mb and sometimes are as low as 750Kb when I'm supposed to be getting up to 8Mb.
I realise my line won't support 8Mb but I was getting 3.5Mb with Tiscali.
Hi all,
We do have a problem under investigation about certain major sites running slowly (http://portal.plus.net/supportpages.html?a=2) which looks like it's down to the akamai network.
Having said that I'd be happy to look at any individual issues, if anyone concerned could drop me a PM with a ticket number or account username I'll look into it and get back to you.
BT say there is nothing wrong with my line so I'll just have to live with the painfully slow speeds for now and change my ISP after 12 months.
I was getting slow download speeds when I wrote the comment above ^^^^. Some were as low as 330kbps!!! I got all manner of excuses but when I requested my MAC code they shot up to 2.8Mb. As soon as the MAC code expired they started falling again.
They're back to normal again now:
