My friend and I went to a gig at The Leadmill on Thursday and after were really in the mood for some good old indie, but couldn't think where to go. I know it's usually Fuzz in term time. But can anyone recommend any good indie clubs? (bar Leadmill on a Saturday, which is already my favourite).

Corp on a friday is ok, but can get very sweaty, the dj plays pretty much all the typical indie,

As mentioned Corp upstairs does Indie. I belive there are two nights down at Aqua (FKA The Roundhouse)Antiks and i belive step on which is both inde rock n roll.
Brighton Beach once a month at the fusion&foundry ,more 60's but also classic and new indie/guitar pop
Plus the small rooms at the mill mondays and also now wednesdays.
I am also lead to belive that Taqulia play indie music on a tuesday but not 100% on that

Thanks for that. I'd quite like to see what Brighton beach is like, I forgot it's at Sheff Uni.

There are other nights starting up in September, October time, which will really interesting and I am sure they will post about em nearer the time. With both The Room and the Leadmill havung varied midweek antics. Leadmill on a Monday is decent just usually v. packed in the medium room.

All the club nights at Aqua have now ended as it's closing to become a comedy club. Antiks and Step on will be back in new venues in October AFAIK.

Step on moving again? Noooo. Its never been the same since Music Factory shut, and I see MF/bed has been knocked down. End of an era. Kind of. There is a new night every fourth Thursday at the Washington which was called Plan B, but Sheffield Hallam Union have nicked the name (not sure if they did it on purpose or not). The next one is this Thursday if I'm not mistaken. Though they play stuff thats influenced the bands of today more than current stuff.

There is also a new night on Wednesday's called Unknown Pleasures at the Room, which will have a good new band playing, then a good old dance off afterwards.

The alternative indie night at Hallam was one of my ideas. It was due to start last FEBRUARY but annoyingly they never finished all the pods in time and it never got off the ground.
