I dont want to go to the doctors because i dont think the problems i have can be solved with pills...
I dont want to go into too much depth cause alot of its very personal but i have things weighing me down so much i cry every day and cant breath sometimes and it all stems from my family. Now my partner and daughter but my family...
I know if i go to the doctors i'll get the whole we'll assess you and then put you on anti depressents but i feel i could cope with this alot better if i could speak to someone who knew how to deal with things they might not have all the answers but if they have a few it would be a start.
Please i've had enough of feeling this way so no criticm for not wanting to go to the doctors.
thank you

I think unless you can pay to go private, you will need to see your dr and ask for a referral to counselling.

I have one but she is NHS at Rotherham hospital, speak to your GP he/she should understand if you dont want to take anti depressants, they may refer you for CBT or get you a CPN or if needed a psychiatrist. Good luck :)
I can recommend a really really good counsellor, but you'll need to pay privately to see him. I think you could probably deal with a counsellor rather than a psychiatrist.
you really should see the doc Fallen, as ther may be an underlying problem such as a hormone imbalance or anemia stopping you from coping with life as well as you should be able to. Sometimes this can be addressed with changes to diet or lifestyle without resorting to drugs. If you're taking a hormone contraceptive, you may need to review which product you're using
Best of luck in getting things straightened out *hugs*
Fallen I know you may think tablets won't help your problems however they may help you see your problems differently..If you visit your GP they may be able to ref to a community health team who will be able to offer some help and support...counselling can be v v draining (dependant upon your problems) and you can often feel much worse before it gets better. If you are in a fragile, depressed state I would recommend seeing a proffessional before you commence any counselling to eliminate depression...it may be that counselling alone may help but please be cautious before making any commitments..
i see a psychiatrist at northlands, southy hill. have to be refered to get in there though, i have bipolar so see mine alot but you can request to be refered to a councilor with out being put on any meds and without having to pay one privatly, counciling although can be pricey isnt likly to leave you broke but a psychiatrist on the other hand is diffrent there job is alot more than that of a counseler and comes with a much bigger fee if your going private,
Fallen, if U need any advice pm me x
