View Full Version : Stamp Collection valuation daisyd 21-11-2005, 19:53 anyone know where I can get a stamp collection valued & how much it costs thanks ps i'm not a bird rocketpig 21-11-2005, 20:00 i'll do it for you i think 1st class stamps cost 30p each these days, so multiply the number of 1st class stamps by 0.3 and that will give you the total value. of first class stamps. 2nd class stamps cost 21p each so do the same for these. then add the two amounts of money together and that will give you the total value of your stamp collection. p.s. i'm not a bird either Clairy 21-11-2005, 20:05 Try calling A E Dowse and son. I havent got the number on me at the moment, but they do valuations of property. Give them a call and ask if they can do it. SpiderPete 21-11-2005, 20:07 go to: Stanley Gibbons website (http://www.stanleygibbons.co.uk) You can do it online, providing you know the Stanley Gibbon catalogue numbers, failing that try your local reference library as they will probably have the latest catalogues. rich66 28-06-2007, 12:00 Can anyone give me advice on selling commemorative postage stamps/first day covers? I have inherited a number of sheets/halfsheets of unfranked stamps from the 1970s and 1980s, also first day covers. Is there a deraler nearby? Dizzyblonde 28-06-2007, 12:15 I would ask in the antiques warehouse on Broadfield Road, they probably dont but might know a man who does Mandem 28-06-2007, 15:58 I would be better if you got in touch with Eadon Lockwood and Riddle on Shalesmoor, they have specialist auctions quite often of stamps etc. They also have specialist valuation days as well. Thanks aardvark6535 06-05-2010, 14:14 Sorry I don't know. Try one of the auction houses we have in Sheffield - By the way the first stamp was issued in 1840 - the Penny Black, to be replaced by the 1d red & the 2d blue in 1841 - the second country to follow Britten was Brazil in 1843. Who'd have thought it. boysheff 06-05-2010, 14:39 Sorry I don't know.
