I thought it was only me who had lost his window cleaner!
Mine went missing in the S11 area. He's about 35 years old, 5'8, tatty hair. Was last seen wearing ripped jeans and a Man U top. If seen please report your sighting to the Missing Window Cleaner's Hotline.
Maybe someone is stealing them to order and exporting them to the middle east in shipping containers??
Maybe not....

Our window cleaner is still here. Otherwise I would not be typing this. Why pay someone else to do a job you can do yourself, lazy so and so's.

Just get one of those extending sponges witht he wiper blades on the other end and off you go. They are only going to get dirty again so what's the point? Just joking.

I do the cooking, the ironing ,the washing, the gardening, wash the car,and also work, so i think i deserve a bit of luxury like a window cleaner. plzzzzzzzzzz

Well if you do all that then one more job like cleaning the windows will not kill you. Heck! A drop of soap and water, quick scrub, bobs your auntie.

Nag nag nag.

ps. I am only joking.

Our window cleaner went missing about March. In the S6 area.

It's starting to sound like Sheffield needs more window cleaners. Does any one want a round in S6 because i know of at least 4 other houses our window cleaner hasn't been to for 6 months.

I've certainly unearthed a reason as to why a window cleaner might disappear.

Having been foolish enough to pay one for 'six months worth of cleaning' in advance, only to have the hapless scallywag turn up once or twice in the intervening period, it galled me that on his next visit he was demanding more money. Cheeky blighter!

Fortunately for both of us I was out when he called and so avoided a soapy confrontation (squeegees, cloths and water at the ready), but I think he got a polite assessment of the situation from my girlfriend and has since ENTIRELY disappeared.

S7 Area, Abbeydale Rd South.
Window cleaners - the thin end of the wedge??:)

Used to have a window cleaner other than me, but the bloke only ever turned up when it was raining. Sure it saved on carrying a bucket of water around but as soon as he had washed them they were dirty again. Didn't see the point.

And what a weird sense it was to turn round and say - "Nah mate - you are sacked". ;)

what a load of tripe, rain only leaves rain marks on mucky windows,ok in the old days of the leather and scrim it was a waste of time as the scrim got to wet and smeared the windows, using squgees solved that problem unless you are doing leaded windows (which we avoid whenever possible)if anyone of our customers doesn't have them done because of the rain they never get them done again.if people want their windows doing part time they should get a part time window cleaner i.e. one that only works in summer.

Where do window cleaners disappear to ?

Well , considering our British weather , if they've any sense , at about 11 a.m. they'll all disappear into the nearest pub , to dry out , get warm , top up and sit round and tell a few good stories about the characters they must come across in their job-----------and the temptations !!

one thing ive noticed over the last couple of years window cleaners are gradually disappearing, when i was a young'n the window cleaners were always scruffy old blokes in flat caps, the sort that sign on the dole and clean windows inbetween stints in the clink, then came the unemployment of the early to mid 80's (also the miners strike) when ever body and their grandmothers were getting a pair of ladders and going door knocking, but now,as the only people out of work are work shy skivers no one wants to do it,so the only window cleaners left are the people who choose to.
