Hi i am new to the forums and was to to try here for some advice. I am looking to try and get a career in train driving but dont know how to go about it, i have spoke to several people about this who have tried to give me some advice but everything keeps leading me to dead ends. I would be most grateful for any advice people can give me

I don't know much directly but putting 'becoming a train driver' into google comes up with loads of stuff. Have you read any of it?

you mean like freight trains o just normal? this is first time iv ever herd any talk about train driving lol. Surely british railway service can help o ask at train station ? Another idea as daft as it may sound train model shops they know all about trains theres one on intake neer manor top. i painted shop shutter for it :D good look choo! choo!

When you first posted this, you should have seen some hints of related topics to do with your thread title; there was a thread all about this on the forum about two months ago.

You could try looking on the websites for the Rail companies which operate in this area,Northern Trains,Arriva,Midland Mainline.they tend to advertise any vacancies they may have on their own websites and usually driver training is done "inhouse".
