Hey Everyone

I'm after some opinions. :help:

My partner and i are looking for a house (not a flat) in sheffield somewhere. We're open minded as to where we rent but i'm after some opinions on good areas to live aswell as areas to avoid like the plague.

Thanks

around Endcliffe park tends to be a nice area and avoid nether edge at all cost i cant cycle through there without at least 1 person shouting abuse at me or trying to nick my bike >:l

Depends on budget, where you work, do you want to be close to the centre, schools? all sorts, you need to give more information.

neeeeeeeeeek (have i got enough e's?)

We're not too fussed about schools, location etc suppose i should have mentioned the need for decent transport links (bus, train, tram etc) We live in an apartment near norfolk park at the minute but we're looking for a house as they seem to be cheaper and offer far better value for money.

I was after some opinions on areas for security, community activites etc rather than proximity to amenities

Hillsborough is excellent for transport facilities and shops for everyday stuff - it's quieter and nicer if you go up the hill from the main roads though (also no danger of flooding!). I've lived around here for a few years and I've never had any problems with security or anything. My street is great because a lot of people living here are retired people & families so there are a lot of people around during the day.
If you want better value for money, Malin Bridge, Loxley & Wisewood are still close to transport links but the houses tend to be cheaper. My house is one street along from the road that apparently divides Hillsborough and Malin Bridge and it was about £8k cheaper than similar houses a couple of streets away that are classed as Hillsborough :-)
