may seem an unusual thing to put on here , but we have all seen those large flat round fray bentos pies in tins , rite i will get to the point it was a few yrs ago now but plumrose used to do a vegetarian range of similar pies in the flat tins however i have looked in every supermarket in vain for a No of yrs now to no avail , does anyone know if they still make/sell them anywhere as im a veggie & i love the crust on these , i cant even find a website for plumrose , hope some 1 knows if they are still available & where

Its just Filo pastry ..... you can buy this ready made from any supermarket in the chiller section near the butter and juice.
Just make your own filling, open the packet of pastry and cut it to the size you need.
Does way with all the nasty pre-packed mushy vegetable crap.

i get ur drift but theyre handy to chuck in the oven when i get up as i will shortly be on nights regular for a while

Make them in advance and get some foil containers from Wilko's with the lids on them and then freeze them. Use to do this all the time when I was on long shifts
You can get quorn and mushroom pies in Tesco which are very nice. Not the same size as a fray bentos but delicious anyway. :nod:

buy some frozen shortcrust pastry, fry and then stew loads of veg with vegi oxo and marmite etc, put in pastry and put in oven.
or
linda mcartneys pies, i like them, sort of mincey (we cal em dogfood pies, but i do like em) like the sausages and sausage rolls :)

both ways they should be eaten with some hendies relish all over

i have done all this lol thx for ur feedback but i wud love to know if the tinned 1's are available by any manufacturer (large flat round ones)
PS ive got some gorgeous curied veg pasties in the freezer wot i made , if any 1 knows if the tinned veg pies are available anywhere in sheff i got a car just name me the shop plz
