I'm looking at buying a dishwasher, the only problem is it would need to be situated in the utility which is about 4mtrs away from the kitchen sink, the cold water supply isnt a problem but the waste is.
My question is from the back of the dish washer if I have a pipe going up and then back down and then to the kitchen waste would this be sufficient?
Many Thanks

It depends on the dishwasher ring the manufacture first if not you could always put a new waste in.

Its not just the distance from the dishwasher to where its going to connect to the waste but also the fall. For every meter you need a fall of 60mm.
My dish washer is 3 'units' away from our sink and i've extended the hose up into the sink unit and into the trap. Works fine. Ask your plumbers merchent for a 'tit trap' !!!

Thanks for the replys, so if me dishwasher is 4mtrs away from the sink and the connection on the sink is say 150mm off the ground, my stand pipe at the back of the dish washer would have to be 390mm minimum?
Many Thanks.

Yep. thats about right. Most washing machine traps are adjustable plus the fall is not too critical as the waste is being pumped by the washer. So try it with the lowest height and if it struggles you could lift the fall until it flows ok.
