Hi i will be moving to the area very shortly and need to furnish my house on a budget, does anyoonne know if there are any "second catalog shops" in Sheffield, or any second hand funinture shops. Also an cheap places to buy carpet/accessories(i.e lamp shades cusions etc)/a desk and a bed!
I will be living in Nether Edge and don't know the city so some where close or any directions would be great.

There are loads. Plenty in the general area you are moving to.

You could also try signing up to Sheffield Freecycle yahoo group. People often give away unwanted furniture and your only expense would be collecting it.

Try Needfull Things on Firth Park Road. They are brill. its all seconds from catalogues and they bring it flat pack and build it for you all in with the cost of the item which is really chhep!!!

I've furnished three bedrooms from there!

There are lots of second hand shops that sell furniture and quite a few are near netheredge, the area around Chippinghouse road/ Abbeydale road is the place to look. Otherwise find the St Lukes hospice shops there are two not so far from Netheredge, one at Woodseats another on Abbeydale road not far from the 24 hour Tesco.
There are shops around that sell beds and three piece suites brand new at competetive prices and if you need re-conditioned kitchen appliances Apollo at Woodseats have always served my needs.
