As most of you know im currently 10 weeks pregnant but also suffer with depression and panic attacks
while walking my elderly dog the other night we were attacked by a pitbull which has scared the living daylight out of me
since then i havent been able to leave the house my panic attacks have worsened this dog is still wandering the streets i have reported it to both police and animal welfare
this has happened twice in 8 weeks and i cannot take anymore

my family live at the other side of sheffield and i want to move nearer to them xxx

Do you have a council house?

If so, a midwife will be VERY helpful in moving you but might not be able to do much until youre further along. I was homeless when I was pregnant and my midwife did so much for my family - we got a home within 3 days, whereas its 6weeks usually. x

Can you not exchange?

Any proffesionals such as g.p, midwife, police etc could write a letter to the council but to be awarded any sort of priority etc they would more than likely apply for a PMA (Meddical report) need a fair bit of evidence such as a diary etc.

An exchange would be the best option.

Gather as much info from as many differant sources. If it is effecting you that bad you could consider private renting. I rent for as cheap as a council property.

Good luck

I suffer from the same as you among other things, altho depression etc isnt as bad now. I was in your position when i was pregnant get onto your housing association/council once you have your pregnancy certificate cnt remember when this is to be honest. I was living in a flat when i was pregnant been threatened by my neighbours scared to go out etc and getting knocked up at stupid oclock by ambulance/police for the neighbours n i had to let them in. my midwife and housing helped me enormously and i got priority because the health of me and my baby was at risk.just to add i also had the police on my side.

I don't know if you will definately get help but its worth a shot to talk to your midwife about whats happening and your housing too. hope everything works out for you.

My midwife wrote us a letter when we needed rehousing, as did the doctor, health visitor and vicar, we got re-housed so it can't hurt! Good luck :)

Think carefully about the reason you're giving though Amyrach

Unfortunately, the powers that be usually see getting rid of your dog as the only solution to any number of problems

If you say it's problems walking your dog that have sparked this desire to move, they're unlikely to help. They're pretty hot on making sure you have 'support' though, so a move to nearer your family would be very important and taken seriously
