Anyone remember a Sheffield band called "The Mass?" Short-lived I recall, c1984/1985, they played a few local gigs, some of which I saw on West Street. They were a little dark & indie/gothy and had a mutilated mannequin as a stage prop (or was it a doll with a severed head?). They also rehearsed in a squat-like old warehouse on West Street (now long gone) on Saturday afternoons, and I do believe made it to the heights of The Limit just once or twice. If anyone has any recordings of them I'd love to hear them...if indeed anyone even remembers them !!
