In response to the recent writers group theme of politics:

Very good Ron, that certainly gave me a chuckle. :hihi:

I'm really looking forward to seeing the right honorable Redrobbo's response to this story.

Thanks Mantaspook. I've joined a comedy sketch-writing group. I think this particular idea has potential but needs to be sharper and funnier.

This is obviously a marginal seat. In respect of the Right Honourable Ladies statement; this could be construed as ‘Favour for privileges’ such matters should be put before ‘The Privies Council’
Nice one Ron, this script has great possibilities.

Hi coyleys,

Thanks for your comments :D . Have you ever had a go at writing comedy sketches - it might be right up your alley?

By that you mean a script, as in play. Well, even though my wife and daughter are amateur dramatics; I have never actually read a script. Saturday night I was dragged off to see Fiddler on the roof.
I suppose it shouldn’t be too hard to convert a story to script – I may be wrong. But to what end, unless you have some amateur dramatics to perform it. I will try anything once – well within reason. I suppose I could call it ‘Delusions of Grandeur’ Number 7457.

coyleys, I am ashamed for missing your brilliant piece  I aim to make up for it with some gushing praise.

Ooo er missus! Top, top stuff Ron. It's a lovely slow build to some proper belly laughs at the end. Fine use of language there, with no stone left unturned in the relentless pursuit of parliamentary double entendre. Very good indeed :)

Diddly-Anne! Mr Blanco. What an expression!
I've just come across your article, Politicians at home.
It's wonderful. I enjoyed it, very much.

Here's a little four-liner, to tie in with the theme.
Polly Parrot.
At last, I think I've found the truth, in fact, I'm sure - by golly.
Why parrots, even in Red Ruth are often known as Polly.
It's short for politician, who like parrots, cannot sing;
But can talk, the whole day long, yet never say a thing!
END
I hope "by golly" is still an acceptable term.
It was when I penned those lines, in 1970.
