View Full Version : Can anyone tell me if there are any council run nurseries? Scammy 01-09-2005, 21:11 can any1 tell me where in sheffield or s11 area where there are any councel run nurserys? (soz about spellings) Henrietta 01-09-2005, 22:40 How do you mean? Do you mean supported or subsidised rather than private? Can I ask why you are wanting to know? Scammy 01-09-2005, 22:42 cause iam just about to start a child care course and i have to work in a council run nursery to begin with and iam woundering which are closest to my home? not a private 1 a normal 1 Henrietta 01-09-2005, 22:45 This (http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/education/information-for-parentscarers/childcare) would be your best bet I'd imagine. They can give you a full list and might even be able to tell you which are council run rather than private. rubydazzler 01-09-2005, 22:46 I would have thought that either looking in the phone book under Sheffield City Council or on the web site would give you a lead ... or ringing the Under 5's service? Broomhall Nursery springs to mind ... and then there are nurseries attached to a lot of primary schools too. But I'd presume that would have been your first line of approach ... if you've drawn a blank there - Education Department? Social Services? Ask your tutor or lecturer?
